I don't recall a time in my life when I wasn't trying to create something from nothing. Whether painting, writing, cooking, or decorating, my joy comes from the flicker of an idea that evolves into something special.
I am thrilled to announce that I have opened the Julie Meulemans Gallery in an old Coca-Cola Bottling Plant in Bloomington, Illinois. Additionally, the gallery will house a yoga studio within the space, which will allow the unique opportunity to practice yoga in an art gallery. My dear friend and gifted yoga instructor, Sheri McCloskey, will be joining me on this new adventure. We would love to see you so check out Sheri's website (www.theyogastudiobn.com) for class descriptions and the weekly schedule.
I have had many opportunities to donate artwork and proceeds from my book, Larkspur Bungalow, to a variety of different charities. As part of my new business model, 10% of all gallery purchases will be donated to charity. Each month a new recipient will be announced on the Julie Meulemans Gallery Facebook page. A short blurb about each charity and ways you can get involved will be explored further if you click on the "Philanthropy" heading.
