This month's charity is one you may not have heard about, as it is a rare genetic disorder. Peroxisomal Biogenesis Disorder (PBD) is a degenerative disease, with only a few hundred children diagnosed worldwide. Most children do not survive past the age of 10 and there is currently no cure or treatment available.

I was approached by Alan Chapman shortly after opening the gallery. He resides in our community and is the grandfather of Max, who was diagnosed with PBD shortly after birth. After receiving the diagnosis, the Chapman family became involved with the Global Foundation for Peroxisomal Disorders (GFPD) and have raised nearly $100,000 to date.

On May 18-19 the Chapman family will host their 2nd annual "Tee It Up!" Golf and Reception. All proceeds will go to fund GFPD.

It with great honor that 10% of gallery sales for the month of May will be donated to GFPD to further the study and hopefully the eventual cure of Peroxisomal Biogenesis Disorder.
