I don't recall a time in my life when I wasn't trying to create something from nothing. Whether painting, writing, cooking, or decorating, my joy comes from the flicker of an idea that evolves into something special.

In 2017  I opened the Julie Meulemans Gallery in an old Coca-Cola Bottling Plant in Bloomington, Illinois. The gallery also houses a yoga studio within the space, which allows the unique opportunity to practice yoga in an art gallery.

I have had many opportunities to donate artwork and proceeds from my book, Larkspur Bungalow, to a variety of charities. As part of my business model, 10% of gallery purchases will be donated. A short blurb about each charity and ways you can get involved will be explored further if you click on the "Philanthropy" heading.
